Walk MS comming to a city near you! During the month of april communities come together in eastern Washington and northern Idaho to join the Inland Northwest Chapter of the National MS Society with the goal to raise support for friends and families touched by multiple sclerosis. That support comes in the form of participating in one of the Walk MS events....the Chapters largest fundraiser. Walk MS is a simple but incredibly powerful way to stand together and be together to help people with MS move their lives forward. You can join the movement in a city near you! The Inland Northwest Chapter hosts Walk MS events in four cities. Clarkston - April 7, 10am, Snake River Levee Walkway, Swallows Park Spokane - April 15, 10am, Spokane Falls Community College Wenatchee - April 21, 1pm, Confluence State Park Coeur d' Alene - April 28, 10am, North Idaho College Each walk is accessible or has an accessible route so that walkers of all ages and abilities can join the movement. Because every movement you make and every dollar you raise supports the mission to create a world free of MS. Because....... Nultiple sclerosis is a devastating, neurological disease of the central nervous system. It's chronic symptoms are unpredicatable and often disabling. The damage is irreparable. Twice as many woman as men have MS and most symptoms occur between age 20 and 50 years of age. The inland Northwest has one of the highest reates of MS in the United States and in the world. Nationwide, approximately 400,000 Americans have MS. Every week about 200 people are diagnosed with MS. Every hour of everyday someone is diagnosed with MS. Now more that ever, 2500 people living in the Inland Northwest Chapter with MS need our help, and we cannot do it without you.
