Isey's Ice, Chalfont, PA
It all started 2006 when my youngest graduated from High School. Suddenly I went from on-the-go Color Guard Mom to having way too much time on my hands. So I decided to start making jewelry.
I started making necklaces and wire wrapped pendants learning from the web. Then I found the Philadelphia Bead Fest classes! From there I learned soldering, stone setting, enameling, lampworking, and a host of other techniques. At home my studio expanded from a tiny part of my living room, to a complete room, and now it takes up half of my basement!
Last year, I decided to learn two new things: Wood Turning and Viking Weave. Then decided to add Kumihimo. So this year you'll see more weaving and wooden items like vases, bowls and jewelry added to the collections. In keeping with the wood theme, I think next year I'll look into new turning techniques and metal inlays.
