Woody Bower currently lives in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina and during his long business career lived in all four corners of the US and traveled extensively to many regions of the world. These travels have given him an aesthetic appreciation of both the Natural and Man-made beauty that surrounds us and began his interest in photography. These forays into some of the most beautiful representations of earth’s bounty have provided him with a desire to record and share the visions of the Celtic and Coastal Regions he has experienced with everyone.  With an engineering background he pays particular attention to structure, symmetry and detail, capturing not only the key element of the photograph, but also how the supporting elements augment the entire view.

Since joining the ranks of the "retired" in January, 2010, additional trips continue to be taken and planned; new scenes and vistas will continue to be added; both Celtic (As Woody and Jean try to vacation in Ireland and Scotland every year or two) and Coastal (an ongoing journey through his local environment). Woody is a member of the Seacoast Artist Guild and the Waccamaw Arts & Crafts Guild. His work is presented at the Chapin Park and Market Common (Myrtle Beach, SC) Art in the Park show series in April, June, October and November, as well as other local and Regional Arts & Crafts fairs.  Additionally, Woody’s works, along with an additional 40 Seacoast Artist Guild members, can now be viewed at the new Seacoast Artist Guild Mall Gallery at the Inlet Square Mall in Murrells Inlet, SC.  He work is also displayed at the Applewood House of Pancakes in Litchfield, SC.

Woody started Island Treasures, LLC, and then developed the CelticAndCoastalVisions.com web site for two key reasons: to celebrate the boundless beauty of our natural surroundings and to preserve the visual impacts of some of man’s most stunning creations.  As the name of his web-site implies, these visual selections focus on two major and widely diverse geographic areas; the Celtic regions of Ireland and Scotland (including coastal areas), and the Coastal region of the Southeastern United States. Everyone may not have the opportunity to physically visit these areas; however, it is his intent that the CelticAndCoastalVisions.com web site will allow you to sense the splendor, magnificence and natural beauty of these two diverse geographic elements.
