Cribleman Suri Alpaca Ranch, located in rural North Carolina, specializes in alpacas raised for their soft, beautiful fiber. Each year after shearing in April, the fiber processing begins. The fleece is selected for the finest, softest fiber. It's then tumbled to remove vegetable matter, hand washed and laid out to dry. Some fleece will be saved for its natural color, other will be hand dyed. Eventually the dried fiber will be carded into beautiful colorful batts and rolags for hand spinning into yarn. Several fleeces will be sent to mills to be made into yarn. When returned from the mill, the yarn may be sold in its beautiful natural color or dyed to be used for knitting, crocheting or weaving. We are very proud to offer our small batch, fine alpaca yarns and fiber that has been hand dyed and occasionally hand spun and woven.
We also breed on a limited basis and occasionally have alpacas for sale. Visitors are welcome by appointment.
