JB's Creations - handmade for YOU is a business I started about 4 years ago. I am a retired registered nurse. With over 50 years put into the medical field I could not sit at home and read a book. I had been making several things as presents over the years and a friend asked me to help her with her booth for a Christmas show. I found it met my needs for involvement with other people and earning a little extra money never hurts.I make everything that I sell. I make an eclectic collection of jewelry with specific items for major holidays. I make purses ( clutch and totes), Children's items ( I have been frustrated watching small children - some as small as in strollers playing with electronic equipment. So I started with items that needed color matching and items with pipe cleaners and small toys for babies to shake and feel. Then I started making [I-SPY bags] I make them with different levels of difficulty, and have been quite surprised at how so many children have no idea of how to move beads around with two hands to find the items inside witch are pictured on an attached card, My other item that means a lot to me is [marble mazes] I started with a very simple pattern specific for small children, children with autistic syndrome an geriatric individuals with arthritis to use their hands more and those with dementia just to keep their hands busy. I now have about 15 patterns with varying grades of difficulty. My seasonal items are cloth pumpkins in the fall and Halloween, pillows with cats, owls, Halloween specific sayings and fall specific jewelry,; for Christmas I again have jewelry specific to the season (some religious), pillows specific to winter and Christmas and ornaments. I am in the progress of making beach-ware and fall and wither ponchos -some made from wool blankets, and quiet books for Children.
