Artist-Bio

Interest in art was easy growing up in a family of artists. Jean Mousseau’s appreciation for art and design came from her parents. They were artists, teachers and her mentors.

Jean’s appreciation for art also involves the practical and functional aspects of art. Her love of color, design, nature, faces, and places, inspired her to create many of the beautiful hand-painted glassware designs.  Her creations are useful, beautiful, and feel comfortable in your hands.

Originally from Michigan, Jean claims Florida as her home; she and her husband Gary spent 28 years living, working, and raising their family there. They enjoyed the tropical beauty, out-of-door activities and sailing on the Gulf of Mexico in Sarasota Fl.  This is where “Picture This by Jean” began. In 1995 Jean started creating hand-painted glassware and original wine glasses, as well as creating designs in multi-media mosaics.

Jean received her BS degree from Eastern Michigan University in Occupational Therapy and her Master’s in Education from National Louis University.  Her educational background greatly influenced her philosophy about art and function. Jean believes in “artful living, and that, Occupational Therapy helps people achieve their potential through occupation & activity - just another aspect of functional art.”

Jean now works from her home studio and lives with her husband Gary in Clarksville TN.  Each piece of art work is unique, from Jean’s original design ideas.  She enjoys working with customers to create special designs for all occasions.
