Jill's Cashbox emerged in 2011 when singer/guitarist Hunter Smith, drummer Shannon Featherman, and guitarist Jeff Sweat came together through a mutual love for music and songwriting. Subsequently, the 3 started writing a collection of songs that told the story of their lives and of those around them. With diverse influences from Country, Rock, Top 40, & Pop, JCB began to develop its sound. Though this sound was definitely country due to the band's affinity for such artists as Jason Aldean, Eric Church, Garth Brooks, Alabama, Johnny Cash & Merle Haggard, the band's style had a distinct country-rock feel all its own.
