My journey, the one that lead me here, wasn’t the typical path of an artist. I’d always felt like an artist. I’d tried many ways to express myself artistically, but none of my attempts met with success or personal satisfaction. I decided, instead, to savor the joy of being a lover of the arts. I couldn’t have anticipated the single, dramatic experience that would transform me. One unexpected moment of inspiration captured an image that brought forth the creativity and innovation that showed me to be the artist I’d known was within me.
My art uses the elements of light and water to create abstract photography. A beautiful dichotomy lies between the simplicity of the concept and the complexity of the resulting images. Colors, movement, light, and shadow interact in unique designs. Individuals view the photographs in different ways and, to prevent the imposition of preconceived ideas, I have chosen not to name my pieces.
My process for creating these images is ever changing. I’m now working on adjusting the levels of the elements used to create the images with multiple colors. The fluid nature of light and changing conditions ensure that no two images will ever be the same. In the same way, no two people interpret the images identically, adding to the personal, individualized nature of my art.
