My name is John A. Pickens. I was born and raised through high school in Tuscaloosa, AL. I moved back to Montgomery in 2002 and have lived here ever since. As I have no training in art or painting, I consider myself an untrained folk artist. I have been drawing and painting in color pastels and acrylics since 1997. My folk art paintings depict stylistic dawgs and catts and locational and landscape scenes that interest me.
