Harp Builder
Harp building and repairing old wooden instruments has been my avocation over the past 20 years. Wood working, as always been a hobby and teaching music my profession. So building harps and Cajon (box) drums is a perfect combination of the two. I build harps in 3 sizes, 22-string lap harp, 32 string medium harp and a 36-string full size folk harp. These instruments are the product of selecting the best design, quality materials and beautiful sound production at an affordable price. I use only marine grade glue on the harps. The soundboards are multi-layer plywood. The strings are attached to a rod that is secured to the sound box of the instrument. This eliminates one of the main problems with harps, string tension on the soundboard, which over time needs to be replaced. Hard woods such as maple, oak and cherry are use for all other parts of the instrument. The addition of Sharpening levers to any or all strings make the harps as chromatic as desired. The Harps are finished to special ordered with any stain and finish. I also supply harp strings and tuning tools. The Cajon Drums also come in 3 sizes from a lap model to a full size floor model. If you have a little rhythm, you can make them sound like you are playing a full set of drums. The Bass Thumb Pianos have a sound that is a combination of string bass and steal drum. You can use the 8 note model or the 13 note piano. They all come with built in electric pick ups for easy amplification. Music stands and stands for the cajon and bass thumb pianos are also availalbe.
