K.L. Designs By Hand, Sacramento, CA
In 2010 I set out on an endeavor not to simply create jewelry but to help others with their beauty and grace. Jewelry isn't merely an accessory; it's a part of us. Our culture, background, gender...our very existence is complimented by the jewelry we choose to adorn ourselves with. It's not only about making a statement. We long to be a part of something. As we are a part of everything in this world, wearing those bits and pieces with us throughout the day only comes naturally.
I began designing jewelry in a tiny scrapbook I kept under my bed. Full of ideas, hopes, dreams! Everything that can only come to bear fruit with time and patience. Creating jewelry must be exercised with patience.
In 2010 after having been bed ridden from surgery on both my feet I longed to keep my hands busy and finally crafted my first piece from a $4 earring kit. I sold every pair for a dollar, making no profit, but gaining a fervent interest in my new found talent and the joy it brought to those four people.
Over the years I have become attached to the design and craft of my tiny dreams, molding silhouettes of art into something that can be grasped, handled, worn, admired...inspire!
