I have been a re-purposer my whole life. An advantage of growing up with depression era parents. If It could possibly be used again, it was not discarded.
I have been a seamstress for 50+ years. You name it, I have probably either made it or re-made it. My passion became real about 10 years ago while preparing for a major move. Instead of donating everything fabric, I turned curtains, tablecloths, bedding and shower curtains into aprons and other usable things. Old jeans became quilts, purses and bags.
Stained glass art has always been beautiful and fascinating to me, so I took a class and I became obsessed and addicted. I never threw out a piece of scrap glass. So my scraps turned into mosaic pieces and the mosaic pieces became stepping stones, table tops, wall art and garden globes.
I love the process of what I create. Everything I build has a good purpose and is nice to look at. I believe everyone should have a functional frivolity that makes them happy and just pleases them. My whole new life is about joy and being a small provider of it.
