What happens when a interest to fulfil a desire meets with fun and excuses to troll Estate Sales, Garage Sales and Thrift Stores?
Christmas Revisited was born! The idea of buying and assembling gently used and clean items has grown into a passion for us, Three Sisters, from two countries. We also know that if our mother was still with us she would be in the thick of it, after all it was she who taught us to be careful with our resources and no one could be a better bargain hunter!
Mom, you see was a Hungarian refugee from after the war in Europe. The stories she had were simply amazing. She had artistic talent, was on track to be a first rate teacher and she would not back down from any challenge!
Smart too! She could build anything and often swung a hammer along side of dad, the carpenter. From a young age we all could swing hammers, saw boards and paint anything that came within reach.
So, one of the sisters wanted a Christmas Diorama for the porch at the seaside house. It could not have lights as the bugs were too bothersome. Well since we couldn't find anything appealing I built her one as a Christmas present in 2010. The other sister received a lighted purchased item from one of the holiday festivals listed here.
Well, the response to the item I built was "oh, yours is so much better" why don't you make more and sell them. Interesting and appealong idea since I was out of work. Why not!
And the rest as they say is history! So go to www.kidspetspeople.com/gallery to view what has happened as the three of us come together and build!
More items will be posted over hte next two weeks as I work through the photos.
Enjoy

PS the Church in this photo was assembled on a 3/4" plywood with a chnnel and hole for the light underneath. the Church itself is a lovely simple ceramic piece. The sidewalk entry is all hand laid mother of pearl shell bits. I just love how this one turned out!
Unless the items have a Sold sign on them they are available for purchase. We are currently looking for venues to profile them at. On November 12th we will be at the Community Center in Ocean Shores, WA with some of these. I'll post places and dates as soon as they are firmed up.
