All my life I've been creative. From the day I first learned to crochet when I was about 8 years old, I've almost constantly had something in my hands. At various times, I've crocheted, knitted, hooked rugs, attempted acrylic and oil painting, made woven wall hangings, woven baskets...you name it and I've probably tried it. And I was somehow frustrated by all of it...until I found watercolor.
When I retired in 2015 after a 30 year career in the computer support field which culminated in being the webmaster at a large public school district, I knew that I wanted to leave technology behind. Even though I found lots of satisfaction in my work, it never fulfilled that lifelong need to create with my hands. When an opportunity came up to enroll in a local watercolor class, I jumped at it. From the first stroke of brush to paper, I was enchanted. The way the colors react with the water and paper fascinates me. And from the day I walked into that watercolor class until now, I haven't stopped painting!
At first I shared my efforts on my Facebook page but when so many people started asking to purchase my work, I decided I needed an online presence.
I'm having a ball doing this! Every morning I wake up and my first thought is "what's on my painting table for today?"
