Growing up, my parents were poor, but they scrimped and saved to provide us with not only our necessities, but classes and crafts to keep us busy. Some of my favorite memories are the various crafts we would do, whether we were painting shirts, painting ceramics, or making beaded trees. My grandma was a teacher and she would take us to the coast to draw the lighthouses and seals or would have us join her on nature walks. One of her hobbies, though, was jewelry making and she created some beautiful pieces.
I started my online journey with blogging and participating in digital collage challenges. Over time my interests have grown into mixed-media, art journaling, and finally into jewelry. As I started to follow in my grandmothers footsteps of jewelry making I finally created a shop to show you what I could do. And Leila Nicole Designs was born. :-)
