Lighthouse Publications
Children of the Light books is a six-book historical fiction series about nine children who live at two lighthouses in fictional Lakeshore County. The year is 1884 and the setting closely resembles Door County, Wisconsin. The setting is Cobblestone Island (Rock Island) where historic William Curtis Betts (who had nine children) was lighthouse keeper during the late 19th century. Ideas for the stories come from William Betts' official lighthouse log with weather conditions that have historical accuracy. The mysteries/adventures center around the children encountering the nine spiritual Fruit of the Spirit.
