Brother and sister, John Bumkens and Lisa Zawadzki, create recycle art. John uses scrap, found and given pieces of metal cut into figures which he treats in a variety of ways adding found and scrounged materials to add interest to his pieces. Lisa Zawadzki, abstract painter turned recycle artist. uses newsprint to form bowls which are decorated with more newsprint, often in the form of abstract designs. Lisa also uses cardboard as the main elements in door decorations and in the creation of what she calls, Naughty Valentines: sculptures of couples, highly abstracted with whimsical faces and bodies pared down to the essentials.
