Lauren J. Alexander has been working as a jewelry designer utilizing sterling silver, gold, and semi-precious stones for over 29 years and loves designing pieces for today's modern women. "I'm fascinated with unusual chain, odd shaped and faceted stones, balinese beads, and I adore pearls!" .
Born and raised in New Jersey, Lauren has always had an affinity for elements of design and aesthetics. Lauren was fortunate to have this talent molded by her high school art teacher Mr. Phelps, an experienced jewelry designer and silversmith. Under his tutelage, she learned the basics of design, soldering, polishing, casting and creating. She then was accepted at The Fashion Institute of Technology and graduated with a major in Jewelry Design in 1985.
Lauren began her professional career by designing for a silversmith in Hoboken, New Jersey. Her designs were featured in Playboy Magazine, Elle, and Seventeen and sold in high-end stores such as Tootsies and Neiman Marcus. She then was hired as lead designer for a costume jewelry manufacturer based in Union, New Jersey. Here she experienced mass marketing and her designs were sold globally, including large chain stores like Bijoux Turner. Lauren began designing for herself in 1995 and has been successfully creating ever since. She now resides in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, with her Husband, Geoff, and their six-year old son, Cole with their 2 horses and 16 shar-pei!
Lauren's passion for jewelry design is reflected in the beautiful pieces that she creates. An ability to implement many different and unique elements along with an eye for quality gemstones and pearls has enabled her to produce truly unique works of art. She enjoys working hand-in-hand with her clients, shaping pieces to their specific wants or needs. All this has earned Lauren a well deserved reputation as a true creative professional.
