The Pope County Library Genealogy and Arkansas History Department offer the tools and staff to assist others in finding out about their family tree. We are the Historic connection to the community. We have the main branch at Russellville and branches at Dover, Hector, and Atkins.
Most of the services provided by the Library system are free. We charge $10.00 per hour for genealogy research plus expenses, and/or copies.
Due to the cutting of Library and Museum funding in the State of Arkansas of over $1,000,000.00, we are working on fundraisers that also benefit our community, the craftspeople and artists, and teach the lost skills to younger people.
A problem that we need to solve is having an event that does not interfere or compete with any other local events, or shindigs that are well attended even if they are not local.
