I can do all kinds of things with beads, but these cuffs are my passion. Embroidery is challenging, but also rhythmic and meditative. Most are two inches wide, and they are intended for daily wear. There is a brief series with famous paintings of famous mistresses. Below is Judith by Klimt, I also have Dora by Picasso and Girl with a Pearl Earring. They cost $125 each.
They begin with a stiff nonwoven fabric. I center the focal piece and sketch out ideas. It's not always easy to choose the right colors to go with the art....and I often rip out the whole thing and start over! The beads are made mostly of glass, with some wood and resin added. They are shaped on a metal band, and the inside is lined with faux leather.
