CERT is about readiness, people helping people, rescuer safety, and doing the greatest good for the greatest number. CERT is a positive and realistic approach to emergency and disaster situations where citizens will be initially on their own and their actions can make a difference.
How long is the training program?
CERT training is a series of 8 modules, about 2 hours each and a final class drill to showcase the skills learned. Saturday classes are offered covering 2 modules per week.
But the training never stops! Throughout the year advanced training is offered to improve the teams skills.
How much does it cost?
There is no cost at all to be a member of CERT. The only cost is your time, effort and willingness to participate in this ALL volunteer program. Remember: there is a place and job for everyone in CERT!
