Mark Garbarini Illuminated Jewelry, South Lake Tahoe, CA
An unparalleled view of the Sierra Nevada Mountains is what inspires Mark Garbarini to create his captivating jewelry designs. An accomplished outdoorsman, Mark is a former member of the Yosemite Search and Rescue Team and a recipient of the Department of the Interior Citizen’s Award for Bravery.
Mark studied art at the University of Oregon and jewelry design at the Revere School of Jewelry Arts in San Francisco, California. After years of training and experience, Mark has combined the ancient art of silversmithing with contemporary lighting design to create an illuminated sterling silver jewelry collection. His handmade jewelry uses light to reveal the intricacy and natural beauty of gemstones much like the dynamic relationship between light and landscape that he has observed throughout his years in the wilderness.
As a classically trained goldsmith and diamond setter, Mark made himself the first light up piece in 2005 for Burning Man. Receiving so much positive attention, he went on starting in 2007 to develop his whole Illuminated Jewelry Collection. Now creating waves through the jewelry and festival communities with his avant garde, one of a kind designs. Growing from his festival family roots started on Grateful Dead Tour, he now travels the country vending and promoting his jewelry at all sorts of art shows and festivals. Some of his favorite festivals are Lightning in A Bottle, High Sierra, Electric Forest, The Oregon Country Fair and the Pueblo Gem and Mineral Show in Tucson. Mark is based with his beautiful wife Chelsea Garbarini in South Lake Tahoe, California.
