I've been an artist for about 30 years (graduating with a BFA in illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1991) and ventured into geometric abstraction for the past seven. In this body of work, I explore variations in color and texture within repeated shapes. Much of the work involves color theory and I use a variety of media to create the finished works. I refer to the art as 'assembled paintings". The art is created using an inlayed puzzle like technique that seems to give the work a richness and depth. All of the art in this body is finished in resin and has a glassy, tile-like feel. most of the pieces are framed and ready to hang. I find inspiration all around me from the worn patina of a boat hull, vintage advertising graphics, children's toy design, and landscapes.
