So I gave up the Woodstock Market for the Hiram Tree Lighting and a setup on Saturday as well, and I had a blast! Friday night was extremely busy - I was inside the Book Shelter. Talked to a lot of people, handed out a lot of cards, and made a few sales.
The only down side is that I took my first bad credit card. When I got home and entered it into the computer, it wouldn't go through. I have no phone number, but I did send an email to the card holder - let's see if she ever gives me a call.
Now I know I need to use the "Square" app that I downloaded into the iPad. But the store didn't have wifi, and I didn't even think to ask to use her credit card machine. Oh well, lesson learned, and I still hope it'll turn out for the best. I'm out $38, which is a lot in a small business, but I'm not going to fret over it - I did that enough yesterday!
And I know my next phone will be an iPhone so I can run the cards without wifi.
