Michael Kenney - Jewelry, Sequim, WA
For more than thirty years I have been cutting and presenting beautiful and rare natural stones in custom made settings. I designed these to both pleasingly present and respect each unique stone as a beautiful creation of nature, and to accentuate the beauty of the wearer.
I often use rare and unusual materials in my creations, like ten thousand year old wolly mammoth ivory, 150 million year old agatized dinosaur bone, or 4.7 billion year old meteorite fragments. Other beautiful materials are picture jaspers that look like a miniature landscape painting, moss agates that are like underwater scenes or snowy forest landscapes, and sparkly and colorful faceted stones.
I feel honored and lucky to be able to be spend my life working and creating with such beautiful materials. My jewelry is spread worldwide, and will still be living, long after I am gone.
