It began as an idea in 2008. For years our family and friends had been telling us how much they loved Kevin's marinated steak tips. "You should sell these" was said over & over. Kevin (or bro as mikey calls him) had been using his secret recipe marinade at his job cooking at various area resturants for years with huge success. Everytime he would run them as a special they would run out, people loved them!
It got us thinking... why not bottle some of the marinade and see what happens?
Mikey was our spokesperson right from the start. Everytime we bottled a batch of marinade, and later the steak sauce, he would run out and give a bottle to everyone he knew. He was so excited! With his mohawk haircut and his hawaiian shirt he charmed everyone he met.
In 2010 Deb, a long time family friend, approached us with an idea she had been tossing about for years. She thought we should add a line of seasonings and dip mixes to the products we were already making. With her years of culinery experience she was a perfect fit with us and we became partners.
During this time Melissa (Mikeys mom) had been diagnosed with a rare, incurable liver disease. As her health began declining, her worries about Mikey's future grew. Knowing this, Deb suggested we put a percentage of our sales into a trust for Mikey's future.
Together Deb, Kevin & Melissa began talking, planning, and a whole lot of tasting. "Mikeys wicked good..." was born....
