OK, I finally figured out how to get in here to write something. I have a new job I am making a mens frock coat circa 1850's. This is the second one I am making--the first one was for the groom, and this one is for the father of the groom. I went to two different fabric stores yesterday (that is my limited choice here in central Fl) and could not find black wool gabardine. Oh, they had other colors--just no black. How basic can you get????
Well, thank god for the internet, I found what I want and ordered it. I am just oldfashioned enough to like to feel the fabric before I buy it--but beggars cant be choosers.
I already had to resort to the internet to find the copper buttons he wants on the coat, so now I am set to go (as soon as the fabric gets here!)
