I've been involved with a variety of arts and crafts since childhood, very useful while working in elementary school! About 3 years ago I began painting small terra cotta pots as gifts for co-workers. I enjoyed it so much I painted pots for each member of my family for Christmas that year, and each of them, with no hints, found the exact pot I had intended for that person! I hand-paint very detailed scenes in acrylics on terra cotta pots and saucers for table display or wall hanging, then coat them inside and out for water and sun protection. I have also used standard interior house paints to paint wall murals, and exterior house paints for wine or whiskey barrels. My barrels are also coated outside for protection from the environments. I especially like to paint pots as lasting commemorations of special events in my clients' lives, such as a wedding, house warming, new job or retirement, birth of a baby, or to celebrate the life of a passed loved one. These are specialty items I call "Memory Pots". I enjoy painting on consignment, from submitted photos, or research I do myself.
