I was born in Cantanhede, Portugal. At the young age of 4, my parents decided to move to the United States to offer a better future for their two daughters. At the age of 10, I was diagnosed with Chronic Renal Failure and my life completely changed. On March 1, 1995, I received a kidney from my mother, Nazare. After enjoying my mother’s kidney for 16 years, it is now failing and I will have to undergo another transplant soon.

Coming from a musically inclined family, my sister Isabel and I always turned to music and art for comfort and distraction. Isabel was blessed with the voice of an angel and pursued her God given talent. My diverse talents ranged from singing, ballroom dancing, and now my new adoration, handmade jewelry. I began my artisan journey about two years ago in 2009. I started creating jewelry to cope with the loss of my job, illness and help pay for medical bills. What was merely a hobby grew into a passion and Paulita Jewelry was born. “Paulita” is a nickname that is usually associated with the name Paula, meaning small, or little. It is a name used by close friends and family members to represent their love, affection and loyalty.

Paulita Jewelry is unique and never duplicated. Each piece is one of a kind, combining vintage Swarovski elements, precious/semi precious stones, renewable, reused, recycled and natural materials. The results are comfortable, striking, amazing designs that are fashionably versatile. I spend an enormous amount of time searching to find the right balance of colors, shapes and textures for every piece. Paulita Jewelry line's tasteful and timeless designs seduce the imagination and reflect life’s moods, milestones and naturistic wonders. All designs are hand crafted by my hands only, in my home studio. I work very hard to create special customized pieces for any occasion.
