My life has been filled with the fine arts. A Bachelor of Music degree set me on a course of both teaching and performing for many years. Next came photography taught to me by a fellow artist and colleague. After many years of showing my photo work at art shows I began making black and white prints and used oil paints to add my own color ideas. From there it was just a short time before I was overcome by a desire to actually try oil painting on canvas. I work out of my studio at home, known as Rivercliff Studio and am blessed to have Smoky Mountain National Park as a back-drop. A few years ago I sold my wonderful tent because I was tired of fighting wind, weather and other assorted problems, so I am most interested in finding "good" indoor art shows that feature real art and fine craft and work very hard at keeping out the buy/sell stuff that seems to infiltrate everywhere you go. I am looking forward to finding lots of good information on this site.
