Born in Havana, Cuba, I learned the principles of photography from my father . I was later able to prefect my skills while working in the army as a civil photographer. In 1980 due to the obvious political differences, I left Cuba to come to America.
My enthusiasm for photography and illustration has enabled me to create a unique process that combines both photography and other mix media to enhance the images of my work. Without the use of computer graphics, the images I photograph are manipulated by hand using color and a variety of texturing techniques to change the background or to remove anything that does not inspire me giving my work new life and making them uniquely beautiful.
I currently live in Los Angeles., where I continue to experiment with new techniques and other forms of media to manipulate my images, obtaining better results each time. In addition, I also create my own frames to enhance my finished artwork.
