My name is Giokazta, which means fertile earth. A few years ago I started getting my hands more connected to the earth by throwing and now I don't want to be without it. Each one of these pieces has a part of me and I call them "my babies." My favorite things to make are mugs and bowls. I love thinking about curling my hands around a good warm mug and drinking my coffee. Is it heavy? How are my fingers in the handle? Does it hold a good amount of coffee? Is it comfortable for my lips when I take a drink?
I'm a painter at heart so you'll see many of my pieces with artistic elements carved or painted to let that part of me be free as well. Because of my process, every single one of my pieces is unique. If you wanted a set of four mugs, I can make them similar and coordinate colors, but each one will still be special.
