The art of quilling, or paper filigree, may date back to ancient Egypt, but was resurrected by religious orders during the middle ages as a way to embellish important objects with readily available material that mimicked gold and silver filigree.
Quilling artist Shannon O'Hara practices the craft today with a modern take on traditional methods in celebration of nature, as a study of sacred geometry, and with a mindful appreciation of spiritual symbols. She is a member of the Quilling Guild (UK) and North American Quilling Guild.
