Colo Wildlife Art, Aurora, CO
Ralph Root – Bio
Ralph resides in Aurora, CO where he paints landscapes, abstracts and Native American Rock Art in oils and acrylics on conventional canvas. He specializes in wildlife of all types, loves to paint with acrylics on flag stone and leaves and is self taught. He started painting on rocks and flag stone in 1990 and developed a process for using “natural canvas” by painting on natural leaves. All of the leaves are from Colorado; Catalpa, Oak, Maple, Poplar, Elm and Aspen leaves. They are a very challenging medium and he enjoys the presentation they give his work. He is also an amateur archeologist and collects Stone Indian Artifacts. He retired as First Sergeant, from the U.S. Army in 2007.
