Hi,

I am not sure who or if anyone reads this, but I figured it is another good medium to express myself. My name is Ashley and my passion is creating art out of glass.

My story is about creating harmony for myself and the people I cross paths with through art. I am inspired by the elderly whom I cared for. Each one of my characters shares a story of a person I crossed paths with and touched my heart in one way or another.

I started working with glass when I signed up for a fun class for a college credit. Instantly, I fell in love! I worked hard during Nursing School to obtain a job and support my glass dream.

My husband kindly bought my first kiln for my graduation present and then I was on my way. I opened my shop in 2012 and worked hard to create unique designs that would be meaningful to my customers! Then I became pregnant and took a loooong vacation (5 years). I chose to take care of my babies and my elder friends, but I longed for my glass art. Now my oldest child is off to school and now I am back with more passion than ever!!!

To be very honest and transparent, I suffer from depression and anxiety. Glass work is my outlet and helps with keeping the darkness out. The elders I worked with had their struggles too and my night lights are an homage to them. I choose to share this about myself to help others who may feel hopeless and I want to say there is light and finding it is a journey. One day, your struggles will give you strength, wisdom, and understanding. Life is good and I appreciate your time reading this! Stay glassy!!!
