My name is Rebecca Jane. I began playing accordion approximately ten years ago and have a repertoire of over two-thousand songs. I have German and Czech heritage and speak fluent German.
I play music from all over the world to include Tyrolean, German, Czech, French, Country, Zydeco, Latin, Tango, Americana, Blues, Rock and Classical. I began playing Keyboard at age two and also play marimba, keyboard, accordion and xylophone. I Play at Restaurants, Festivals & Private Parties and Jam with Rock, Blues, Country and Zydeco Bands.
Background: I began my career by volunteering with talented and gifted students from my High school and entertaining senior citizens at The Rosewood Retirement Home in Killeen, Texas every Monday evening for two years. I entered the Gulf Coast Accordion Jam Fest and Solo Competition at the 2013 National Accordion Association Convention in Dallas and won the Grand Prize, a new Roland FR-1X Digital Accordion. I have been a member of the German Singing Group Liederkrantz for 7 years and perform at all their functions: Christmas, Mardi Gras, Oktoberfest, Mother's Day and many others. I have been doing solo accordion at each yearly German Christmas Advent Service at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Copperas Cove, Texas for seven years. Played accordion at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Salado for two years and at St. Luke's Fish Fry in Temple occasionally. I was a Texas Folklife Polka Finalist for 2014 and 2015. Have been hired for several Events to include: Strolling accordionist for the Deanville May Day Festival 2014 and 2015 (wasn't available for 2015 due to trip to Italy), Oktoberfest at Edelweiss German Restaurant in Harker Heights, Texas 2013 and 2014, Oktoberfest at Big Hoss Barbeque Restaurant in Killeen, Texas 2014 and 2015. Played at the Tomball, Texas Christmas Festival in 2014. I am hired for numerous Private Parties and Events. Played at Giovanni's Italian Restaurant from June 2014 until September 2014, J Kowboys Wine bar in Temple and Vino's Pizza and Wine bar in Harker Heights, Texas. I play monthly at El Chico's Mexican Restaurant in Killeen, Texas. I played five hours at the German Heritage Festival in Tomball Texas on April 2, 2016. Also help out with Fundraisers and play my music for Special Occasions. Wrote my first Polka and will be producing my own CDs. Attended and performed at: Las Vegas International Accordion Festival, Cotati Accordion Festival in California, San Antonio Accordion Festival, Dallas National Accordion Association Convention, Tomball German Heritage Festival and Thanksgiving Cleveland Style Polka Weekend in Cleveland, Ohio. I am Exploring Rock, Blues, Tango and Jazz Music on my Accordion and Keyboard. I have studied music under Debra Peters of Austin and Maestro Mario Pedone of Sugarland, Texas.
