The Grand Rapids Balloon Festival is a premier annual community event that fosters community pride, growth, and prosperity while benefitting local charitable organizations.
The purpose of the Grand Rapids Balloon Festival is to provide a fun, family-friendly event that will support Children's Miracle Network and the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital as well as another charity still to be determined.
The fifth annual Grand Rapids Balloon Festival is scheduled for Thursday, July 19 through Saturday, July 21. The festival venues will be Ah-Nab-Awen Park located in downtown Grand Rapids and the Hudsonville Fairgrounds in Hudsonville, Michigan. This event is intended for the greater Grand Rapids community and surrounding areas. Individuals and families come from miles to attend this amazing charity event!
Hot air ballooning is a unique and exciting sport that captures the attention of young and old alike. We plan to have over twelve beautiful, brightly colored hot air balloons at the festival. Pilots throughout the Midwest will gather here to share their sport with us. Watch as they take to the skies in the early morning dawn and in the evening.
Kids will also be able to enjoy the “Kids Zone” which will include many fun activities, including inflatables, carnival games, dunk tank, face painting, photo booths, petting zoo, and more! Keep a lookout for more information coming soon on our Facebook page and our website.
A crowd favorite is the “Balloon Walk.” Have you ever walked inside a hot air balloon? The highlight of the festival will be the balloon launches and the beautiful “Night Glows.”
