RetroFoam™ is a 3-part resin that is a nonflammable insulation material. RetroFoam can be injected into the wall cavity of your home or office. Optimal for replacing your old insulation or insulating your existing building, RetroFoam foam insulation offers numerous benefits as well as a simple and quick installation process.
With energy costs always on the rise, RetroFoam can pay for itself by saving you money on your utility bills. RetroFoam keeps your home warmer or cooler longer – no need to keep running the heater or A/C. And since it's not necessary to tear out walls or remove old insulation, RetroFoam spray foam insulation costs less to install than any other re-insulation material.
RetroFoam insulation can provide 2×4 stud cavities with R-values of 14.5 to 16.0 for the summer and winter respectively. 2×6 stud cavities can reach a R-value up to 23.7. Taking in other wall components such as siding, sheathing and others your wall assembly will have a greater R-value than what is listed above.
RetroFoam also helps decrease air drafts in walls by filling plugs, switches, cracks, and voids where the walls could “leak” conditioned air.
Retrofoam becomes a lightweight solid unit of insulation inside the voids it fills helping keep out air movement unlike loose-fill products or even fiberglass which are not solids and allow for a greater amount of air to move through the insulation. RetroFoam being lightweight solid foam and having unique qualities also resists moisture and even if it gets damp it continues to hold its R-value.
RetroFoam foam insulation is also an effective pest barrier for the reason that it can fill voids and crevices in wood and concrete block walls that pests could enter.
The RetroFoam installation is an easy process in most types of buildings, typically completed in less than a day. Our installers inject RetroFoam into the wall cavity, so there's no need to tear out walls. Since RetroFoam is installed from the outside in most cases, you do not need to move furniture or clean up the inside of your home.
Although RetroFoam is used primarily to save energy, our customers often comment about how quiet their homes become once RetroFoam is installed. RetroFoam reduces noise levels by a 41 dB reduction on average. Apartment and condominium residents find RetroFoam a great solution for noisy walls.
RetroFoam foam insulation is a Class 1 nonflammable product. RetroFoam adds safety and value to your home because fires burn more slowly through RetroFoam-filled walls.
