I was born and educated in New York city. I started making sculpture from soap as a young child and moved up to playdough and then real clay. After taking my B.A. in Art Education from West Liberty State University in West Virginia, I went to Southern Illinois University where I studied Sculpture receiving an M.F.A. in Sculpture in 1979. I spent two years as an Artist in Residence in Bloomington/ Normal Illinois where I taught workshops in ceramics, sculpture and film making. I also worked for 2 years as an assistant to Joel Myers. I went to the Pilchuck Glass Center the summer of 1980 where I met Dale Chihuly who invited me to come to The Rhode Island School of Design as their Glass Dept. technician and build a new glass facility. While in Rhode Island I worked with Dale, Howard Ben Tre and Micheal Glancy. I moved to California in 1981 to build a studio in a castle in Glendora. I have been blowing glass and making sculpture and other things ever since. I make sculpture, jewelry and lighting from glass, clay, wood and metal.
