HOW IN THE WORLD DO I KEEP MY HEADBAND ON MY HEAD?

posted February 2, 2016   category » Exciting Updates

How in the world do I keep my headband on my head?

I am finding this is a more common question than we all thought, seriously.

How do some people simply put a headband on and it stays and looks awesomely perfect? This is the million dollar question of the day.

How come some people simply cannot get a headband to stay on at all?
You put it on your head and BAM! Slips and slides off like you have repellent on your hair.

Relax! Not everyone has the same shaped head, so inevitably you may have a larger skull than the average size person. Based on Ask.com the average head circumference of an adult male is 22.44 inches and a female is 20.87 inches, respectively. However, averages vary widely depending on the age and ethnicity of the individual.

I have some tips and information to help all those out there that are headband challenged.

  1. Try using bobby pins or small hair clips at the back of your head (behind your ear) to pin the headband in place.
  2. Spray the underside of your headband with hairspray to provide a bit of adhesive
  3. Examine the texture and material of the headband; smooth fabrics like a sateen ribbon will likely need pinned.
  4. Just because the headband says “grip” or “no slip” it may still slip.
  5. Keep in mind the hair products you use make an impact on your headband staying on as well (ex. a heavy hair gloss).
  6. Myth: Your headband will stay on if you keep your hair down.
  7. All headbands are made in different sizes so if you can try it on, TRY IT ON.

Hope these tips gave you a couple new ideas you didn’t think of prior and above all, have fun accessorizing!
