Plain Truth Ruths' Fine Art and Jewelry, Forest Park, GA
Mini Bio: Artist Ruth Roberts, born in Baltimore, Md., started drawing very early in life and by age 7 had accumulated a large portfolio of drawings inspired by newspaper ads for women's clothing. When she was a student at Clayton State College she completed a self portrait in graphite from a black and white photo taken of her at Easter when she was 3 years old, titled, "Little Ruthie". She also learned ceramic painting and made many pieces that she signed and dated. She learned crochet and made many pieces of clothing, afghans and bedspreads. She became a professional singer in her 30's, singing in many local clubs. After giving her life to Christ she gave all her vocal talents back to Him and is now the Director of the choir at her church. Most of her art is usually exhibited at Arts Clayton Gallery in Jonesboro, GA. All larger frames are hand cut and built from raw lumber by Ruth and her son, Brayden and hand cut matted by Ruth.
