An entertaining show for all ages. Sam's musical diversity sets him apart from other musicians. While creating his own eclectic style, he also strives to preserve timeless American Standards, making them fresh for all generations. Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Cole Porter, Harry Connick Jr. Jamie Cullem, and Michael Buble are only a few of the influences that emulate Sam's style.
Sam released his debut EP in September 2015. Produced by Bryan Cole and engineered by Doug Kasper, this album features a mix of classic jazz and contemporary music. The album has a minor, sultry feel, which captures the essence of Sam's style. Available on iTunes.
With a Master's degree in vocal performance from New York University and an adjunct faculty position, a Bachelor's degree in professional music from Berklee College of Music, and a Bachelor's degree in chemistry from Carnegie Mellon University, saying Sam has diverse interests is putting it lightly. It is his wide range of interests that allows Sam the versatility to bridge the gap between classic jazz music and pop.
Sam's love of the American Songbook started at a very young age listening to the great crooners like Frank Sinatra, Nat Cole, and Sammy Davis Jr. with his grandpap. This early music education nurtured Sam's love of the great American composers like Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, George Gershwin, and Harold Arlen which became the backbone of Sam's vocal repertoire. He also began studying piano at age 6. His ecletic interests led him to study vocal pedagogy and Classical/Broadway music while pursuing his Master's in vocal performance at NYU. While in New York City, Sam appeared in a number of productions including Maybe One Day (Off-Broadway), Sweeney Todd, Promenade, and Our Time.
