Scott Kemper, Prescott, AZ
The world travel and landscape imagery I compose are carefully created to engage and inspire the viewer. Artistic compositions and careful attention to detail are hallmarks of my work. With each frame I compose, my goal is to create a fresh perspective, striking a balance between the familiar and something new. I gravitate toward strong colors, interesting lines, and repeating patterns.
All of my images are captured digitally, then adjusted to showcase how the scene impressed me. Finding the best composition, waiting for the right light and deciding on what to include or exclude from the frame all factor into my process. It may take minutes, hours or several days to achieve what I envision. Once adjusted in the digital darkroom, I have my lab print on the best media for each image - art paper, canvas, metal or acrylic.
Most people consider me “outdoorsy” with a taste for adventure. I often find myself in open spaces, exploring the back country, or traveling foreign lands. My passion for photography grew right along with my travels. Over time I refined my eye, interests and technical skills. In 2000 I began to commercially license my photographs and photographed golf courses on assignment. Since then my images have appeared in magazines, books, newspapers, calendars, ads, websites and business presentations across the world. I entered the fine art market in 2017, and in 2019, I was thrilled to become a Trusted Art Seller with the Art Storefronts Organization.
