Shards etc was started in 93 as an open studio for local artists in California. It is now my private studio where I work full-time. Clay work is my primary interest. Images of the southwest, asian, nature and contemporary blend to reflect my personal tastes or experiences. For instance, my interest in the southwest began as a child in Chicago. It continues today as I road travel between California and Texas. My love for nature and animals started in my studies in botany and a little zoology. The asian appearance of some of my work evolved as I noticed similarities to the native american art.
