Shelly Broughton has been painting in her upstate New York studio for over 20 years. Her studio is nestled on a deadend road in rural Rensselaer County where she draws inspiration from the natural surroundings in her own back yard, wondering the 150 acres surrounding her studio, annual trips to the midwest and US Virgin Islands as well as glimpses of memories of her happy and simple childhood. She works in oils and mixed media and loves incorporating vintage and antique ephemera into her work. Not out to save the planet with her artwork, making a client smile and ponder is satisfaction enough.
