Artist Statement

I am a self-taught woodworker/woodturner and I have no formal training in art.   The principal tool I use is the wood-turning lathe but I use many other tools in the production process.  My objective is to bring out the  beauty of the wood that was put there by nature.  It gives me a great deal of pleasure to watch this natural beauty being revealed as the bowl or other object is being worked. 

I also get great pleasure from attending fairs and talking with patrons about my art and theirs.  I do not sell online or by mail.  I want to see and talk with the customer and I want the customer to see what they are buying.  I am always pleasantly surprised and secretly thrilled when someone says, "I want to buy this piece of your art."
