Sidney Joseph is a south-eastern Pennsylvania native.(Chester County). This singer-songwriter has a wide spectrum of musical influences. Ranging 60's rock to hip-hop and his most recently discovery, cumbia. "I dig anything that makes a sound! From rain dripping on a cellar door to a lop-sided dryer spinning." A self described late bloomer, Sidney didn't pick up the guitar until he was 16. "Nobody in my family played anything except maybe the lotto." It was at a friend’s house when he noticed an electric guitar sitting in the corner collecting dust. He picked it up and within minutes was playing "Sunshine of Your Love" by Cream. "Needless to say my buddy was like take it home man!" The guitar was in its own weird tuning Sidney remembers. "Months later I finally learned the standard tuning for the guitar. I tuned it, and lost a few songs I had been working on in some bizarre tuning." If you listen to any of his recordings you will notice his lyrics are very bold and provocative. This is probably attributed to his early days of rapping. Sidney points to KRS 1 and Big Daddy Kane as being very influential. "I think Bob Dylan was actually one of the first rappers!" From Hip-Hop, to Folk, to World it's all frequencies. And it's obvious Sidney Joseph has tuned into them all.
