Hello and welcome to Sierra's Sunshine!
My name is Sierra. I was raised in a small town, on the coast of California, where my single mother and I lived on a small budget. My mom taught me early on to appreciate the little things in life. I started crafting young, and by 16 years old I was selling my accomplishments at local concerts and Grateful Dead shows. Eventually, in my early 20's, I sold to gift shops and specialty stores. Now days, most of my makings end up being gifts to family and friends. But, recently a friend introduced me to Etsy. Now, thanks to modern technology, I get to share these gifts with people from all over the world.
These days when I'm not making jewelry, you can find me training service dogs for the disabled, crocheting, and taking photographs.
All of my pieces reflect my life experiences, love and inspirations. These include appreciating nature, loving and collecting vintage goodies, and up-cycling treasures I find.
A portion of all of my proceeds go to charities for the homeless in Sacramento, Ca. For instance, this winter I'm doing a blanket drive through facebook. Unfortunately there is a high population of homeless in this city. So I dedicate a percentage of my profits for donations of items such as blankets, clothing and hygeine kits.  I also collect and donate blankets to local pet shelters, so cats and dogs aren't without something to snuggle with, and keep them warm during the winter months.
