The Western Heritage Festival is a free to the public event drawing local and regional residents together to gain an understanding and appreciation of traditional Nevada arts and culture through experiential learning. Drawing from a rich heritage of ranching, railroading and mining, the festival teaches visitors about the unique diversity of the Reno Tahoe region. Demonstrations in basket making, spinning and weaving, quilting, saddle making, etc. are planned. Additional activities will include children's dummy roping, stick horse barrel racing and square dancing. Stage performances highlight cowboy poets, musicians and dancers.
