My background started in traditional illustration and painting. In the last decade I've been traveling thousand of miles on the back roads of the United States. This has resulted in a cataloging of hundreds of people, places and experiences. Initially this has been a digital photography project, that has led to more explorations of digital art. Today's technology allows me to shape an image to fit my emotional response to a scene. Images may have little adjustment or as the story develops, it can require intricate adjustment , layers and multiple exposures. Many images are paired with quotes or lyrics that fit my feeling about the image. The project, Two Lane Past is a series of personal postcards from my back road experiences. This is a rest stop on a continuing journey. Art is a journey of awareness and exploration. Georgia O'Keefe defined the path of an artist with a quote that I often reference. "Weather you succeed or not is irrelevant, there is no such thing. Making your unknown known is the important thing." My work can be seen at many gallery and events during the year and on my website at: www.stillslife.net
